Cyber Security awareness and Career Counseling: B.D. Karve College of Arts, Commerce and Science conducted a Guest lecture on 02 sept 2023 in Lecture Hall no. 2 at 11:00 am to 1.00 pm. Asst. Prof. Jyoti Gaikwad, welcomed and introduced the Guest Speaker, Mr. Ajay Nikumb and requested him to deliver the guest lecture on the topic “Cyber Security awareness and Career Counseling ''. He is Faculty trainer for YASHADA Pune, Sahakar Bharati Maharashtra, Bank Association Pune, Bank Federation and Various collage of Maharashtra. For Cyber Security Subjects since 1992 and President of IT Cell of Sahakar Bharti Maharashtra from 2016 till date. He is Founding Director of Soc Analyst Pvt Ltd. Startup in ISMS. The speaker explains about the Basics of Cyber Security, its scope and various certifications. During his lecture the students were given time to interact with him. Students felt that the session was more informative, interactive and beneficial.
Session on “Professionals getting future ready: B.D. Karve College of Arts, Commerce and Science conducted a Guest lecture on 29/08/2023 from 11.30 am to 1.15 pm. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Pravin Paritkar. The session was on the topic “Professionals getting future ready” for first year students. He is Head HR of Adani University. He has delivered lectures in various organizations and Universities. The session was enriched by many realistic examples. The lecture highlighted the importance of various skills and techniques for improvement, how to work effectively with a team of people, and the importance of understanding the perceptions and opinions of people we interact with. He has enlightened the importance of developing communication skills and soft skills necessary for successful career building. The guest lecture was very interactive. Students found the lecture very interesting and informative.
3) Session on “Latest trends in Cyber Crime” on 21 oct 2023: B. D. Karve College of Arts, Commerce and Science organized an insightful guest session on “Latest Trends in Cyber Crime” for the first-year B.Sc. Cyber and Digital Science students. The session took place on 21 October 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The esteemed speaker for the event was Mr. Rohan Nyayadhish, a renowned cybersecurity expert and consultant with over a decade of experience in the field. Mr. Rohan Nyayadhish began the session with an overview of cybercrime, defining it and explaining its impact on individuals, organizations, and governments worldwide. He emphasized the importance of understanding cybercrime to effectively combat it. He had presented several real-world case studies, illustrating the methodologies used by cybercriminals and the consequences of such attacks. These examples helped students understand the practical implications of theoretical knowledge. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students had the opportunity to ask Mr. Nyayadhish questions. This segment was highly engaging, with students inquiring about career opportunities in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and steps to take in case of a cyber incident.
